Wipe Test [ATP+AMP] on Hands (Conducted on November 26, 2020)

Sample / Onsensui 99 · Nanocollo Nature® × Onsensui 99
A wipe test was conducted in-house using the Kikkoman ATP measurement device, the LuminTester.

◎A device capable of highly sensitive measurement of “Adenosine Triphosphate (ATP)” and “Adenosine Monophosphate (AMP),” which are common indicators of contamination found in bacteria and food residues. It is widely used as an official measurement instrument in various institutions, including the Defense Medical College of Japan, the Epidemiology Department of Infectious Diseases, the Osaka Medical College Hospital’s Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Center, the Meat Hygiene Inspection Office, and public health centers, where its usefulness has been recognized.

ATP: Adenosine Triphosphate. A substance essential for energy metabolism in all living organisms.
AMP: Adenosine Monophosphate. A substance that is formed from ATP through processes such as heating, fermentation, and enzymatic reactions.
(ATP and AMP are common to bacteria and food residues, making them ideal indicators of contamination.)

 

Conclusion: When Nanocollo Nature® is sprayed onto hands using Onsensui 99 and wiped off, the levels of ATP and AMP decrease by up to 98.7%.

Bacteria

・Unicellular organisms that absorb nutrients from their environment while multiplying on their own.

・Relatively large and not visible to the naked eye, but can be observed under a light microscope.

■ Sterilization Efficacy Test

 

A sterilization efficacy test of the diluted Nanocollo Nature® Onsensui 99 was conducted at the Japan Microbiological Research Institute.

・For D bacteria, the dilution of Nanocollo Nature® Onsen Water 99 decreased to 1/100 after 30 minutes.

・For O bacteria, there was a reduction of over 99% within 1 minute.

・RJ bacteria also showed a reduction of over 99% within 1 minute.

It was found that the Nanocollo Nature® blended with Onsensui 99 demonstrated a higher bactericidal effect.

Virus

・Much smaller than bacteria, viruses are composed solely of proteins and genes and do not have their own cells.

・They invade the cells of other organisms, such as humans, and force those cells to produce copies of themselves, as they cannot reproduce on their own.

Virus Inactivation Experiments

To confirm the virus inactivation effect of Nanocollo Nature®, a virus testing was commissioned to Osaka Prefecture University, Graduate School.
Viruses are composed solely of proteins and genetic material, lacking any cellular structure. They cannot reproduce independently; instead, they invade the cells of other organisms, such as humans, and utilize those cells to replicate themselves.

Discussion

In this study, a virus inactivation efficacy test was conducted using the test material. The results revealed that the test group with diluted Nanocollo Nature® Onsensui 99 demonstrated an inactivation effect of over 99.999% after just one minute of contact.

Research on the Inactivation Effect of Nanocollo Nature® on Respiratory Viruses and Variants

Joint Research with Kagoshima University (From April to August 2021) Collaborative research conducted with the Kagoshima University Human Retrovirology Research Center, focusing on antiviral chemotherapy.

Experiment 1: Inactivation Effect on Standard Strains and Variant Strain A

After mixing with the virus solution for one minute, the viral infectivity decreased by over 97% for the standard strain and by over 94% for variant strain A.
◎ The inactivation effect was found to be independent of the type of virus strain (standard strain vs. variant strain).

Experiment 2: Effect of Nanocollo Nature® on Respiratory Viruses

 

Nanocollo Nature® reduced the viral infectivity of the standard strain by 99.9% after mixing with the virus solution for 2 minutes.
◎ It was determined that Nanocollo Nature® has a very strong inactivation effect against respiratory viruses.

(The effectiveness is significantly dependent on the dilution ratio with water.)

Experiment 3: Inactivation Effect of Diluted Nanocollo Nature® Onsensui 99 on Standard Strain and Variant Strain D

After mixing with the virus solution for 2 minutes, the infectious titers of both the standard strain and variant strain D decreased by over 99.9%. ◎ It was confirmed that the diluted Nanocollo Nature® Onsen Sui 99 can inactivate respiratory viruses by over 99.9% in just 2 minutes.

Experiment 4: Inactivation Effect of Fragrance-Added Nanocollo Nature® Onsensui 99 Dilution on Variant Strain O

After mixing with the fragrance-added Nanocollo Nature® Onsensui 99 dilution for 2 minutes, the infectious titer of variant strain O decreased by over 99.5%.
◎ This demonstrates that the fragrance-added Nanocollo Nature® Onsensui 99 dilution possesses a very strong inactivation effect against respiratory viruses.

Deodorization

To better understand the potential effects of Nanocollo Nature® and to manufacture and sell safer and more reliable products, we conducted deodorization tests in-house under the technical guidance of the Kagoshima Prefectural Industrial Technology Center.

Test Item

Nanocollo Nature® (Diluted Onsensui 99), Tap Water (for Comparison)

Target Odor Substances for Testing (5 Types)

The following 5 types of substances were selected as test subjects for common unpleasant odors in daily life:

  1. Ammonia: Irritating odor found in toilets and urine
  2. Acetic acid: Body odor associated with sebum, sour smell
  3. Isovaleric acid: Oily smell, similar to sweaty socks
  4. Formaldehyde: Irritating, chemical-like odor
  5. Acetaldehyde: Choking smell similar to gasoline or tobacco smoke

Implementation method

A spray containing the test product was placed inside a 10L Tedlar bag and sprayed once (approximately 0.33ml). After that, each gas was injected. The gas concentration was then measured at different time intervals (5 minutes, 15 minutes, 30 minutes, and 60 minutes) using gas detector tubes.

Result

Among the five types of odorous substances, the most significant deodorizing effects were observed with the acidic substances: acetic acid and isovaleric acid. Below are graphs showing the changes in gas concentration for acetic acid and isovaleric acid.
As shown in the graphs, with Nanocollo Nature® (Onsensui 99 dilution): – After 5 minutes: * Acetic acid decreased by approximately 67% * Isovaleric acid decreased by approximately 70%
After the initial 5 minutes, both gas concentrations continued to decrease gradually, and after 60 minutes:
– Acetic acid decreased by approximately 83% – Isovaleric acid decreased by approximately 87%
Regarding the decrease in gas concentration with tap water alone, it is presumed that the reduction occurred because both acetic acid and isovaleric acid are highly water-soluble.
For the other substances: – Alkaline ammonia and weakly acidic formaldehyde and acetaldehyde did not show clear deodorizing effects
– However, some mild deodorizing effects were observed after 60 minutes: * Ammonia: approximately 25% reduction * Formaldehyde: approximately 20% reduction * Acetaldehyde: approximately 17.5% reduction
Conclusions:
1. All five test substances showed some degree of deodorizing effect, though with varying levels of effectiveness
2. Particularly strong effects were observed with acetic acid and isovaleric acid
3. Nanocollo Nature® (Onsensui 99 dilution), in addition to its known cleaning effects, can be expected to have deodorizing effects on body odor and sweat-related odors
Future Research Plans: – Conduct further deodorizing tests on these five odorous substances – Determine the optimal amount needed for effective deodorization of each odorous substance – Perform more detailed verification of the deodorizing properties of Nanocollo Nature® (Onsensui 99 dilution)
